The GRIT Awards - Caring in Bristol's interactive activity that acknowledges the grit and determination that many people have to use to survive the challenges of a housing system that fails many groups of people, leaving them in precarious situations and without a home. We know that people from the LGBTQ+ communities are disproportionally affected by homelessness, and the risk of it. The GRITs are our way of highlighting this, and starting much-needed conversations about housing and homelessness.

Staff and volunteers were on hand throughout the Pride event, and throughout the day provided encouragement, information, and insight into housing and homelessness. They also celebrated the grit and tenacity shown in the face of a housing system that falls short of providing homes that can be a stable foundation of wellbeing, for the LGBTQ+ community and others too!
