Bristol Goods is a food project working in areas where affordable and quality food is difficult to access. Its pop-up shops connect adults at risk of homelessness and those who have recently experienced it. Their voices are so important to us. Members of the food club (which also enables peer support and access to information, advice, and support) have told us what is important to them, and why...

Personal Impact

"The Bristol Goods project has helped us by giving us access to affordable food, which we would otherwise go without. The volunteers are very appreciated because it couldn’t be done without them. Everyone is friendly, there is a nice atmosphere. There are snacks to have with a tea or coffee. I know a lot of people who are very glad it is on."

"It has made it affordable and easier to eat healthily."

"I’ve had some good advice on housing rights."

"Bristol Goods has supported me massively. I have food in my cupboards."

"It has been very handy to have this service in the building that we live in. It is good value for money. I have received beneficial advice from staff and Shelter [Our Early Doors project partner]. They have also helped me out with Pet Food."

Why Bristol Goods is Needed

"I have lacked energy at times, low mood difficulty concentrating and low mood. It is depressing without money to buy food. It’s cheaper to buy junk food then healthy foods which leads to weight gain and health issues. It puts a strain on everything when you can’t afford the nice food in the shops which I just don’t have the money to buy."

"It impacts your wellbeing when you have to go without the necessary things we should be able to buy. When you pay £900 per month rent and additional bills it leaves you with no money for food."
