Newly in post, Amy Sinclair is Caring in Bristol’s new Volunteering and Community Engagement Manager. The role has been enhanced to reflect our commitment to creating the best experience possible for our volunteers, recognising the significant impact they make in the city. Amy said, “It’s been an incredibly busy couple of weeks since starting the job. I’ve loved meeting the staff and some of the volunteers here at Caring in Bristol, all of them passionate about supporting people who are experiencing homelessness.”

Christmas volunteering is a priority

At this time of year, with Caring at Christmas very much on the horizon, Amy will be working through a huge amount of tasks in her new role. One of the first things she is looking forward to doing is working through the applications already made for Caring at Christmas, getting to know everyone, and making the initial allocations. For everyone else, fear not! Our volunteer portal (Assemble) is being prepared for further volunteer registrations; our volunteers have provided some extremely useful insights into its usability, so she’s working on streamlining the system to be a much better experience.

“I’m knee deep in understanding and developing the systems,” she says, “especially, Assemble. And I’m getting there so expect to hear from me very soon with your application status, updates and how to get involved!”

Preparations are in hand...

In the meantime, if you have any urgent questions around volunteering at Caring at Christmas, she’d be happy to hear from you. For anything else, look out for the planned communications via Assemble (if you’re already registered) or in the volunteering section of the website. Information for this year is being prepared to launch, and she’ll make sure you have all the information you need! Contact Amy using our dedicated volunteer inbox.

Looking forward to meeting you

“Caring in Bristol clearly has a committed and loyal bunch of volunteers, who have been involved with the organisation for years. I can’t wait to hear all the stories and suggestions as well as welcome newcomers!”
