Our youth services teams (Project Z and Z House) recently set up a canoeing trip on the River Wye at Symonds Yat. James, our senior Youth Practitioner, said, "A large percentage of the young people we work with rarely have the opportunity to leave the city. We wanted to provide some half day trips so the young people can leave the city and spend some time in the countryside. We felt that this would have a positive impact on their overall wellbeing."

Confidence and Wellbeing

It certainly did, and all the young people who participated enjoyed being out of Bristol and spending time in the natural environment. It's part of our approach that puts young people's needs at the centre of what we do, providing opportunities to build trusted, positive relationships, and building confidence and wellbeing in creative ways.

A collage of photos of young people and staff on canoes on the river wye, or on a mini bus, wearing life jackets and safety helmets. All smiling.

Thank you!

Thanks to The Lovett Foundation for your brilliant support in making this possible! Activities like this make a huge difference, and provide opportunities for our young people to expand their horizons, and move beyond homelessness and housing insecurity into the future they deserve.
